Colin is a practising solicitor. Colin has gained substantial experience of investigations including undertaking an investigation into a major grievance of bullying, harassment and disability discrimination. This included conducting investigation meetings, preparing statements and drafting the final report in partnership with the client’s investigator, adding the benefit of his technical legal knowledge to the findings of the report. Colin appreciates the need to work within the client’s timeframe and to draft the investigation report in clear English without legal jargon. Other investigations that Colin has assisted with have included investigations into disciplinary allegations of misconduct, fraud and discrimination.
Colin also coaches internal investigators so that they have the tools and guidance to undertake the investigation themselves, and he has provided support to an appeal panel, attending the appeal hearing and providing practical and legal advice to the panel to assist them in making their decision. Colin was recently asked to be the decision maker on a disciplinary case.
